Divine Problem Solver.

My dog and cat came to sit with me as I write this. I have read they have a sense of when their family needs them. Researchers say that a cat’s purr has healing frequencies and can have a calming effect.

I have always been fascinated with the fact that my pets, and all animals actually, have no doubt of who God is, they don’t have to figure out how He fits into their lives. They also don’t need lessons in how to be a dog or cat - they know exactly how to be.

I, on the other hand, don’t know how to be a mature, wise woman of God, quick to forgive and be about His Work. I need daily and constant reminders, teaching, practicing, and learning. No wonder I struggle with letting go of the old to make room for the new. How can I embrace and accept the new creation that YHWH is offering me?

As a recovering perfectionist and expert ruminator, I am slow to change and need to evaluate this offer from every angle. I count the cost of every decision as time feels in short supply, as does energy and physical ability and so I find I don’t accept His offer and then end up back where I started. Setbacks and disappointments that were once easy to recover from now take days, weeks, even years.

So I look at the problem instead of looking to the Divine Problem Solver. YHWH rarely takes my suggestions for timing and convenient solutions - I wonder if you feel that way, too? He often waits until the 11th hour and provides in ways I couldn’t imagine.

I wonder how many more times I will need to learn this lesson before I can trust the One who is in the business of making all things new.

Maybe this can be the time to trust and be on watch for this miraculous new creation called me.

Take Action: Take a moment and write down one problem that you are now ready to turn over to The Divine Problem Solver. Can you trust that God makes all things new?

In His Hands: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here! --2Corinthians 5:17
